Exeter Panthers 2-1 Exmouth United

This very hard-fought match that could have gone either way but eventually Exeter Panthers won out. Exmouth United started strongly, creating four good chances in the first 10 minutes. After much pressure striker Cayleb Field slotted his left-foot strike in by the post to give the visitors the lead. Harry Kifli-Reynolds made some good stops in goal and Exmouth almost grabbed a second when Bryn Stephens curled a free kick just wide. Panthers scored the equaliser and it was 1-1 at the break.

In the second-half Exeter exerted more pressure and were rewarded when a scramble in the box was poked in. Exmouth defended well, including numerous excellent headers from Finn Glanfield, and great organisation from Tom Price, Harry Bassett and Owen Brady. United continued to create chances until the final whistle but it wasn't to be there day.

Exmouth United 2-2 Crediton Youth

Anybody walking along Exmouth seafront on Saturday morning would have been delighted to stumble across the 4-goal thriller between Exmouth United Under 12s and the impressive Crediton Youth. The visitors, whose crisp passing began from kick-off, were ahead before the home team had settled into the match. A quick throw put their striker clean through and he finished emphatically. This set the tone for the first 15 minutes in which Crediton attacked in waves, scoring again, and would have been out of sight if it hadn't been for the exemplary Lewis Alford making some fantastic stops in goal for United.

The hosts kept their heads up and continued to work hard. By half-time they had begun to create chances and had tightened up at the back. The second-half was to belong to United, who began well and started to create space in the midfield with some fine passing. Seb Harrison tore up the left wing and cut inside on many occasions to create scoring chances and eventually Jay Leballeur seized his moment and smashed the ball home. With their tails up Exmouth continued to probe whilst keeping up their defensive work - including a goal-line clearance from right-back Jack Greaves to keep them in the match. Lewis Evans was a rock in central midfield - repeatedly making important challenges and brave defensive headers.

As the final whistle drew near it looked like Crediton had done enough to hold on but there was more to come. Harrison ran on to a through ball and was brought down to win a penalty. Captain Dylan Mogford dispatched the spot kick in style and the match ended all square. A very exciting game with some superb football played by both sides.

Pink Panthers 0-3 Exmouth United

United came up against the top-of-the-table Pink Panthers in the Plate competition today. Exmouth got straight into their passing rhythm and began to press the home side back. They soon took the lead when Finn Glanfield found his way into the box and struck a sweet left-foot strike into the net. United went 2-0 up when captain Dylan Mogford took his chance to shoot from distance and fired past the keeper. Throughout the first-half the visitors kept up the pressure - creating a number of chances.

In the second-half the home side were stronger but the away defensive organisation continued to hold them at bay. Left back Owen Brady was impossible to get past and goalkeeper Lewis Alford made some incredible saves to keep yet another clean sheet. Jack Greaves and Bryn Stephens also played their part with some excellent defensive and attacking work on the right. After being penned back by the home side United broke on the left wing and Jay Leballeur's shot was parried into the path of Glanfield who drilled in the rebound to seal the victory.

Another excellent effort demonstrating how well this group of players can work together as a team!
