Broadclyst FC 3 - 5 Exmouth United

Exmouth United Under 12s gained their first victory of the season with a well-earned win at Broadclyst. United started strong and were soon pressurising the opposition with some impressive midfield interplay. They opened the scoring when Jay Leballeur and Bryn Stephens linked cleverly to set up Finn Glanfield who bagged his first league goal with a deft shot. The home side worked their way into the match and equalised with an excellent passing move. They followed this by scoring from a free kick just before half-time.

The Exmouth United Under 12s squad

Exmouth started strongly in the second half and began creating chances as the midfield got their passing game into gear. Striker Kuba Strzalkowski made a number of skillful runs and was rewarded with an equaliser. This set the tone for the half in which Strzalkowski bagged a hatrick and could have had more had it not been from some excellent defending from Broadclyst. Lewis Evans volleyed in from a corner to make it 5-2 before the hosts got one back near the end. United goalkeeper Lewis Alford was solid throughout making a number of decent saves and defender Harry Kifli-Reynolds was instrumental in keeping the hosts at bay.

This was the result United needed to kick-start their season in Division 2.
