Pink Panthers 1-6 Exmouth United

Yet another fantastic effort from Exmouth United saw them climb within one point of top spot in the Exeter Youth League Under 12s Division 2. Travelling away to Exeter Panthers the reds needed to demonstrate their character and commitment to make it 6 consecutive league wins.

United started well, creating chances from both wings and testing the excellent Panthers keeper on a number of occasions. The pressure told when Jay Leballeur scored directly from the corner spot - whipping in a superb right-foot curler. Moments later Leballeur turned provider when he delivered a flick-cross into the box where midfield dynamo Finn Glanfield was ready to smash it in. At the other end, Lewis Alford was called upon to make some important saves to keep the visitors ahead.

Cayleb Field and Lewis Evans also came close as United created chance after chance. Exmouth built their attacks from the back - with some exquisite link-up play down the right side between full-back Jack Greaves and winger Bryn Stephens. The next goal came when Stephens chipped through to Kuba Strzalkowski who blasted in with his right boot to make it 3-0 at half-time.

After the break, Exmouth were facing uphill but the solidity of the defence showed no signs of cracking. Owen Brady, Dylan Mogford and Harry Bassett all demonstrating why so few teams have been able to create clear-cut chances against them in recent weeks. The next goal followed some quick thinking from midfielder Lewis Evans who played a pin-point pass to Strzalkowski. The striker received the ball and, faced with the keeper, unselfishly offloaded for left-winger Seb Harrison to bury in the net.

United continued to pile on the pressure with some breathtaking football. Strzalkowski pounced like a tiger on to the rebound from a fierce Glanfield's strike to make it 5-0. Defender Kifli-Reynolds showed his all-round ability making a superb run up the right wing and delivering a threatening cross.

All afternoon, Evans had been causing the defence problems with his mesmerising skills and after hitting the woodwork twice it was fitting that he should cap off the victory with a splendid finish from the edge of the box.

Yet another demonstrate of the excellent team ethic being shown by United Under 12s. They continue to impress by playing quality football and working incredibly hard week after week!

Exmouth United 5-1 Copplestone Colts

Another mammoth performance from Exmouth United against Copplestone Colts made it seven victories in eight matches for the home side. Exmouth began slowly but soon began stringing together some neat passing moves. Defenders Dylan Mogford, Harry Kifli-Reynolds, Owen Brady and Jack Greaves all demonstrating confidence and composure in their link up play with the midfield. After some promising attacks it was Finn Glanfield who made the break when he played a quick one-two with Bryn Stephens and fired it over the keeper from 20 yards. Glanfield then had a header cleared off the line when he connected cleanly with a Stephens corner.

At half-time it was still tight and the next goal went to the Colts who closed down a long ball to equalise. United showed their character by going straight up the other end to re-take the lead; Stephens pushed up the right wing and put in a tricky cross that the keeper parried and Jay Leballeur was there to smash in the rebound. From then on Exmouth took complete control, some clinical passing led to striker Cayleb Field receiving outside the box and shooting to make it 3-1. Fellow striker Kuba Strzalkowski was next score when Greaves fed him in the area and the he buried it in the corner.

When Copplestone attacked they were matched by centre-back Harry Bassett, right-back Tom Price and goalkeeper Lewis Alford who put in a very mature performance for the home side. As the game came towards an end Seb Harrison picked up the ball on the right wing and swerved his way in and out of the visiting defence until he reached the 6-yard box. He squared unselfishly to Stephens whose shot was saved, Kifli-Reynolds seized on the loose ball but was charged down then it fell to Lewis Evans who smashed a right-foot belter into the top corner - a fitting end to a commanding performance!

West Hill Wasps 1-6 Exmouth United

Superb, outstanding, unstoppable and United!

Once again Exmouth United came up with some wonderful football when they travelled to West Hill Wasps to face a team that knocked them out of the cup. Starting the match kicking uphill United began well with crisp and composed passing from back to front. It wasn't long before Finn Glanfield met a pass from Lewis Evans to unleash a fabulous drive that gave the keeper no chance. It was Evans again whose clearance set up Kuba Strzalkowski who ran through and shot to make it 2-0.

Meanwhile, West Hill showed promise up front and would have levelled if it wasn't for some excellent goalkeeping from Lewis Alford and a goal-line block from Owen Brady.

Exmouth stepped things up in the second half. Winger Bryn Stephens delivered an excellent corner and Evans rose to score a fantastic header into the corner of the net. Yet again the superb Evans drove down the left wing, beating two defenders, before cutting it back to Cayleb Field who passed the ball home for four. Next Stephens crossed another time and Evans bagged his second with a fine half-volley. For the last United goal Evans returned the favour and set up Stephens and struck it past the keeper.

Seb Harrison, Harry Bassett, Owen Brady, Tom Price, Jack Greaves, Harry Kifli-Reynolds and Dylan Mogford also contributed with some powerful defensive work and excellent passing.

Overall, another great performance from Exmouth with the stand-out effort from Lewis Evans with 4 assists and 2 goals.

Exmouth United at Paignton Futsal Finals

Well done to all the boys that attended the Paignton Futsal finals today. In the first two matches Exmouth took the lead and dominated. However, the opposition came back and both matches ended as 1-1 draws. In the last two matches United had to push forward and take more risks and were narrowly defeated. All the teams played impressive football and the our boys did not look out of place at all at the tournament.

Exmouth United 7-2 Pink Panthers

Exmouth United gave a breathtaking display as they thrashed the Pink Panthers 7-2 at Exmouth Cricket Club. After just 5 minutes, Kuba Strzalkowski flicked a throw-in past his marker, rounded him and raced through on goal. With no hesitation he entered the box and coolly smashed the ball into the top corner. The second goal followed shortly, as Strzalkowski slotted a pass to Finn Glanfield who cleanly passed his left foot shot into corner of the net. Having just come on the pitch, Bryn Stephens delivered a sweet cross from the right wing which Strzalkowski met with a perfect volley to net his second. The United work-rate was superb and centre-backs Dylan Mogford and Harry Kifli-Reynolds snuffed out the Panthers attackers brilliantly.

Harry Bassett and Tom Price were rock solid at full back and both demonstrated excellent passing and awareness when linking up with the midfield. The next goal came when Strzalkowski, in an emphatic mood, dribbled through and jabbed the ball into the goal to bag his hatrick. Just before half-time the Panthers got a goal back but the first half clearly belonged to the home side, both in terms of possession and the scoreline.

The second-half began with more of the same. The ball was played to Strzalkowski who performed some wizardry to out-skill the defence, turning and running through on goal. On approaching the keeper he squared unselfishly to Jay Leballeur who slotted into an open net. The Panthers got a second after a goal-mouth scramble but United came straight back when Leballeur hit a venomous strike that shook the net giving the goalie no chance.

Cayleb Field and Jack Greaves kept up the excellent defence whilst also pushing up to support the attack when they could and Lewis Alford was strong between the sticks. Exmouth kept up the relentless pressure and created numerous good chances throughout the second-half. Their outstanding passing and movement was exhilarating to watch. Two stand-out moments were a perfectly weighted left-footed through-ball from Seb Harrison and a wonderful reverse pass from Lewis Evans. The latter set up Exmouth's final goal, in which Stephens' shot was deflected in. This superb performance has elevated United up to third in the league. Long may it continue.
